How to overcome love and sex addiction?

I'm gonna try EMDR therapy. Does anyone know what works for these addictions? ruins all relationships. help please?

I wonder if he has anything to do with fear of intimacy, but at the same time, really want privacy. Also I wonder how old he is, because a lot of people I know have gone through a phase like that.
